Emory FIRST Publications Guide

Step 1: Export from EndNote

a. Select the desired publications, or skip this step to export all publications in the library
b. Under File options, select “Export”.
c. Rename the File to something memorable and note the location
d. Save as: Text File (*txt)
e. Output style: RefMan (RIS) Export
f. If exporting selected publications, make sure the “Export Selected References” is checked

Step 2: Import into Emory FIRST

a. Log in to Emory FIRST at profiles.emory.edu using Net ID and Password 
b. Use the three-line icon in the upper left to open the Options Menu, then select Import Publications from the Tools column
c. Browse for the exported RIS file
d. Select Upload
e. Records to import may take a few seconds to appear
f. Once listed click Import to add all files to your “Claimed” publications
