Emory FIRST Publications Guide

This page describes two ORCID iD connections which must be completed separately.

• Log into your faculty profile at https://profiles.emory.edu
• If the correct ORCID displays on the profile homepage, as shown in the example below, no further action is needed
• To connect or change an associated ORCID:
  • Click on the three-line Menu option in the upper left corner of the screen.
  • Under Setting column, select Automatic Claiming
  • If ORCID profile is listed select YES
  • If the correct ORCID is not listed, scroll down and select the appropriate option under ADD EXTERNAL PROFILE
• Publications associated with a linked ORCID account will be automatically added to the publications claimed list without need for individual title review
• Publications claimed to relevant faculty profiles will immediately populate SOM faculty web profiles

To connecting or creating an ORCID account (https://orcid.emory.edu), you may use either an independent email and password OR Access through your Institution by searching for “Emory” and using your Emory NETID and password.

This connection initiative is under the Emory Provost Office and in conjunction with Emory Research Compliance, Office of Information Technologies, and Emory University Libraries. Connecting with Emory Shared Data is part of the NIH and federal funding programs data security efforts and persistent identifier requirements as outlined in the 2022 National Security Presidential Memo (NSPM-33).

• Log in at https://orcid.emory.edu
• Select the appropriate option to either Create and Connect OR Connect an existing ORCID
• Follow the prompts to create/log into your ORCID account directly OR use your Emory NETID and password
