How does this device work?
First, check the manual or quick guide of the item you checked out. If the manual isn't helpful, you should see Classroom Technologies in the 217 suite of the Woodruff Main Library. They are across from the library service desk and can help you troubleshoot the equipment.
What kind of microphone do I need?
Read through the descriptions in the equipment available box and see if a microphone listed includes your project (such as live music amplification, podcasting, class discussions, etc.) If you can't determine which microphone would be best from those descriptions, contact Classroom Technologies and see what their expert opinion is.
Where can I find PA systems for use with the handheld microphones?
Public Address (PA) Systems are available from the Emory Student Center Information Desk, located in the Emory Student Center.
This equipment may be checked out for one week at a time from the Library Service Desk.
These items cannot be renewed.
Overdue fines are $10.00 per day.
The SM58 is your all purpose analog mic. Use this mic with your own sound board to mix vocal and instrumental music or check them out along with a PA system from the DUC for your next live event.
Each handheld microphone comes with a 25' XLR audio cable. This cable is designed for use with sound boards and PA systems.
