Equipment Collections at the Robert W. Woodruff Library

The Audio/Visuals Collection at the Robert W. Woodruff Library is a pool of audio visuals equipment, readily available for the Emory community.

MediaLab

The MediaLab has a small collection of equipment, specifically for use in/with the MediaLab.  See the list of equipment available for loan periods, fine structures, and technical specifications.

The MediaLab is located across from the Heilbrun Music & Media Library offices on Level 4 of the Woodruff Main Library.

During the Fall and Spring semesters, the MediaLab is open all hours that the Heilbrun Music & Media Library is open and provides staffed assistance:

  • Monday-Thursday: Noon until 8pm
  • Friday: Noon until 5pm

The MediaLab is unstaffed during the summer.

Equipment Available

External Slim Hard Drive

Solid State Hard DriveThe MediaLab currently offers 2TB portable hard drives for short-term out-of-library circulation.

Save your complete projects on an external portable drive and download to your computer via USB.

Each hard drive comes with a USB cable, Apple USB-C to USB adapter, and carrying case.

Circulation Period: 3-day loan, out-of-building circulation, no renewal

Overdue Fines: $1.00 per day

Note: This item is available at the Library Service Desk on the second floor of the Woodruff Library. 

 

Apple USB SuperDrive

Apple SuperDriveThe MediaLab currently offers Apple USB SuperDrives (USB and USB 2.0 compatible).

Use this external drive at MediaLab to play/burn CDs and DVDs on MediaLap iMacs or on your own laptop.

Technical Specifications:

  • Read Speed: 24x CD / 8x DVD.  
  • Write Speed: 24x CD / 8x DVD/R / 6x DVD/RDL
  • Rewrite Speed 16x CD / 6x DVD-RW / 8x DVD+RW).  
  • Supported Media Formats: CD-ROM.  
  • Supported Media Types: CD-R, DVD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RDL, DVD+RW, DVD-RDL, DVD-ROM.

Note: this drive does not support Blu-ray.  For Blu-ray playback, please use the blu-ray players available in the Heilbrun Music & Media Library.

Wacom StylusThe MediaLab currently offers the Wacom Grip Pen stylus for use with their Wacom Intuos Pro tablets.
