Special Subject Units from Sex Research: Early Literature from Statistics to Erotica

Part One: Sexual Behavior and Attitudes - 15 Reels

Books in this part look at the sexual mores of the 18th and 19th centuries. Some of the topics covered include: Incest, celibacy, extramarital sex and homosexuality.

Part Two: Sex, Law, and Medicine - 10 Reels

Books covering such topics as rape, sex offenses, divorce, venereal diseases, reproduction and adultery appearare a part of the collection. This section contains a large number of trial accounts during the 18th century.

Part Three: Sex and Literature - 82 Reels

The more "classic" titles in this area of research appear in this section, which helps provide insight into the development of varying sexual attitudes throughout the world. Most titles are in either English, French or German.

Part Four: Sex and the Humanities - 14 Reels

This final part deals with the status of women, anticlerical works, medical aspects of sex, and the immoral effects of music, theater and dancing. Also included are social histories, dictionaries and art books.
