One of the most common issues, especially for Mac users occurs after installation. EndNote is launched but nothing seems to happen. Even if the program installs correctly, you may think it did not install because unlike programs like MS Word, where the programs gives users the option to create a new document, etc., unless you know what to look for, you may think nothing is happening.
Once EndNote 20 is launched, some Mac users may only see the following:
You have to actually create a new EndNote library to "see" anything. Go to the File menu next to the EndNote 20 menu and select "New." Name your EndNote library and select a location. Once you do so, you will see a blank EndNote Library appear like below:
