Subject Training for LSD

The questions vary widely. Please refer students to me (Lori Jahnke).

• Students often struggle with finding too much material and can be confused by fields that tend to use terms from anthropology in their literature (e.g., Business). Thus, large databases can be problematic for those just getting started, especially if their questions are not well-defined.
• Connecting their research question or topic to broader theoretical frameworks is a common need, although students don't usually know how to ask this. I prefer to work on this through discussion during a consultation--this often involves refining questions and sometimes re-scoping their project. Oxford Bibliographies are very helpful for students who seem overwhelmed and want something immediately.
