How to use the Library

This is a guide to using the Emory Woodruff Library

How to Use Library Search

Search items in the catalog by entering the work's name, author, or call number into the search bar. The results will show the library location, it's call number, and whether or no it is available for check out. If a book is located at another Emory Library or the Library Service Center, a request must be made to have it sent to the Emory Robert Woodruff Library.

The search can be narrowed by using the limiters on the left side of the screen. These limiters specify the format, location and language of the material in the catalog.

How to find Articles

Articles cannot be accessed from the Library Catalog. Emory users must use Articles+ to access scholarly e-resources such as articles, images, books and dissertations. Search Articles+ by selecting the header in the upper left hand corner on Library Search.

Digital articles and books can be accessed by clicking Online access and choosing a link beneath Full text availability. Emory users must enter their Net ID and password to access these materials. Only current Emory students, faculty, and staff have access to digital materials.

How to find a Database

Emory has access to multiple databases. These can be accessed by click on the header in the upper right hand corner. Databases can be found by entering their name in the search bar or scrolling through the list of databases which have been alphabetically organized.

How to find a Journal

Journals can be found by entering the title in the catalog search bar or by clicking on the header in the upper left hand corner.
