How to use the Library

This is a guide to using the Emory Woodruff Library

Reservable Spaces

There are a variety of spaces that can be reserved in the library. These include study rooms, audio production spaces, and conference spaces. Emory students, staff and faculty can reserve: 

  • Individual study rooms
    • These rooms are private study spaces for students that can be reserved for as little as 30 minutes to a maximum of 3 hours. They are to be used by only one person at a time. 
  • Group study rooms
    • These rooms are for three or more students to study. They can be reserved for for a maximum of 3 hours. 
  • Graduate Study Rooms
    • These rooms are for eligible Laney Graduate School students that need research space and frequently use the library. 
  • Carrels
    • These spaces are open to graduate students and undergraduate honors students that frequently use the library. 
  • Faculty Studies
    • Library studies are available to faculty that need research space and frequently use the library. 
  • Audio production studios
    • Student Digital Life offers video, photo, and audio production and online streaming services through multiple studios. They can be reserved for up to 3 hours.

Student Tech Support

Student Technology Support (STS) provides Emory students with free tchnical support and assistance for student owned devices. STS on a first come, first-serve basis and does accept appointments. STS handles issues such as:

  • Assisting students connect to Emory Wireless
  • Installing or activating Microsoft Office
  • Printing on campus
  • Assistance with VPN
  • Recycling student electronic devices

Student Technical Support is located on Level 1 of the Woodruff Library and offers in person support Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 6 PM. 

After hours or for more difficult technology issues, please call Emory IT at (404) 727-7777 or visit help.emory.edu to report an issue. 

Lost and Found

Items lost in the Emory Library will be taken to Lost and Found. Please reach out to the Robert W. Woodruff Library Operations/Access Services Desk at the library entrance to search the lost and found. The Operations/Access team can help with:

  • Reporting safety concerns
  • Facilities issues
  • Locked doors
  • Shelving issues
