Some out of copyright play scripts are available freely online. Most of these date from before 1924. You can find these in small, topically-focused databases such as the Zora Neal Hurston plays at the Library of Congress. Others are available in large digital catalogs like Hathi Trust.
Emory has a growing number of contemporary African American play scripts. To find them, do a SUBJECT search for the following: (Black Drama OR African American Drama) AND African American Authors.
You can also search by title or playwright. Note: If we don't have a play, contact Erica Bruchko or James Steffen and request that we purchase a copy!
