Library Orientation for Nursing

This information was developed for nurses conducting research via the Emory Libraries

About this Orientation

This orientation has four sections, each with an optional scored quiz. You may take the tutorial in one sitting or complete parts of the tutorial at your own pace. As a whole, the tutorial takes about 60-90 minutes to complete.

  • Use the menu on the left to navigate through the sections.
  • Use the arrows at the bottom of each page to navigate forward or backwards.
  • Following the sections in order will help with understanding and completing the quizzes.
  • At the end of each assessment you can print and/or save a copy of a Completion Certificate that shows your name, score and when you took the quiz, which you may forward to your instructor.
  • You can take each assessment more than once if needed.

Don't stress

Learning to search databases and find the best clinical literature takes time and experience.  It will get easier the more you do it.  Remember, the library and the librarians are here to help.
