The International Area Studies Team of Woodruff General Library develops information resources and provides library services to Emory faculty and students in various international area studies. The Team is formed by the librarians in African Studies, Chinese Studies, East Asian Studies, Japanese Studies, Korean Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, Middle East & Islamic Studies, Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, South Asian Studies, and Jewish Studies. Based on the needs of our faculty's researches and teaching and students learning, we acquire books, e-books, journals, e-journals, government documents, archives and online databases through international book fair trips, approval plans, and book catalogs selections in all the languages that Emory scholars needs. We have successfully developed great international collections for the Emory community in the areas of history, literature, religion, social sciences, etc. in various languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Persian, Portuguese, Sanskrit, Spanish, Russian, Telugu, Urdo, Yiddish, etc. We conduct research consultations for individual students and teach library instructional sessions as needed.
