Primary Narrators of Emory’s History

The better part of Emory University’s research into the African American involvement in the building of the University – the Manual Labor School in Covington GA, which later became Emory College in Oxford, GA, and later still Oxford College and Emory University – has been undertaken by historians Leslie Harris, Mark Auslander, Gary Hauk and Emory students and administrative staff over the course of the last twenty-three years.
