About CINAHL

CINAHL

  • Stands for Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health.
  • Is pronounced SIN-ALL.

CINAHL covers a wide range of topics including nursing, 17 allied health disciplines, including nutrition and dietetics, physical therapy, sports medicine, respiratory therapy and public health, as well as biomedicine, alternative/complementary medicine, and consumer health.

When to use CINAHL:

  • Use CINAHL in addition to other databases when looking for articles that focus on a narrow, specific aspect of nursing (staffing, case load, education, nursing units, etc.) or allied health.

Search Multiple Databases

EBSCO is a vendor of many databases.  The EBSCO interface can search multiple EBSCO databases at the same time.  Click the Choose Databases link then check off the additional databases you want to add and click OK.  Hover over the balloon icon at the end of each database to learn what's in it.
