Using Library Search

This guide explains how to log into an account, search the catalog, and how to renew and request items.

What is Library Search?

Library Search Homepage

Library Search is the new search tool to find Emory Library's materials, including books, e-books, videos, journals, and much more! You can use Library Search to:

  • Search for items at any of the Emory University Libraries
  • Request items and have them delivered to any library on campus
  • View items you have checked out and renew items online
  • Bookmark, organize, and retrieve library records from any device

Library Search is a great place to start looking for books or videos on a topic, but for powerful, targeted searches that use subject headings or a controlled vocabulary, try a database specific to your discipline or topic.

What is included in Library Search?

Library Search will return results from Emory Library's catalog, including:

  • Books
  • E-Books
  • Journals, Newspapers, and Serials
  • Video or Visual Materials

Library Search does not search articles in Emory's databases. You can search for journals by title (or use eJournals A-Z), but to search for articles by title, you will need to use Articles+.

What is Articles+?

Articles+ provides Emory users with access to millions of scholarly e-resources including articles, images, conference proceedings, audio-visual materials, books, and dissertations. Search Articles+ by selecting the header on Library Search or by following the link in your search results.
