Literature Reviews Are Your Friend

Standalone literature reviews (usually with the word "review" in the article title) explore the current state of the research literature on a topic. They are very useful when you're researching a subject that is new to you.

Important note: Standalone literature reviews do not count toward the five empirical articles that you are required to use because they are based on others' research, not the authors' own.

Annual Reviews publishes only literature reviews in a variety of disciplines, including psychology and sociology.
