Welcome to our Virtual Pomodoro Study Sessions!

The MacMillan Law Library will be offering Virtual Pomodoro Study sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout March from 7pm - 10:10pm (March 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th and 31st).  Sessions are open to students, faculty and staff and participants can come and go as they please.  We will NOT require engagement with the librarians or each other during these sessions.  No breakout rooms, we promise!

Developed in the 1980s by an Italian college student using a tomato-shaped kitchen timer, the Pomodoro Method is a time-management strategy which breaks work down into focused, 25-minute intervals (a Pomodoro) separated by short, 5-minute breaks.  After four Pomodoros, the break is expanded to 15 minutes.

We have a theory that there is a certain energy and motivation that comes from studying in a group.  Since we cannot offer group study in our library's physical space due to the pandemic, we thought we would try to support group study in our virtual space.  We know you are tired of zoom (we are too!).  Therefore, these sessions are designed to require minimal engagement.  We'll focus on the timer, you focus on the study.
