Library Information for History Graduate Students

This guide provides an overview of the library resources and remote services available for our graduate students.

Setting up discoverE and ILLiad Accounts

Before you begin your search in our catalog, please sign into your library account. The option to sign in is provided on the top left-hand side of the screen. It would be helpful for you in getting additional information about materials.

Request Scans of Library-Owned Physical Items

Electronic Document Delivery is a scanning service offered to Emory University faculty, staff, and students at no cost. If you would like a PDF of an article or book chapter that Emory Libraries owns in physical format, you can place an Electronic Document Delivery request through discoverE. Library staff will scan and upload the document to ILLiad (Emory's interlibrary loan and EDD system) and then notify you by email when the PDF is available.

Note that not all Emory libraries participate in the scanning service to the same degree, so some material may be ineligible for scanning.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) of Non-Emory Items

Current Emory students, faculty and staff may request electronic delivery of book chapters and journal articles from other libraries through ILLiad (Interlibrary loan). Availability of ILL materials may depend on the opening of our partner libraries.
