Open Emory University's library catalog - discoverE - to begin your search for eligible print materials in the collection. Results from your search will appear as a list below the search bar sorted automatically by relevance. Refine your search by sorting options (date, author, subject, library, etc.) on the left panel of the screen.
Open the desired item record by clicking on the title. Selecting the title will direct you to a link that provides item Details, Locations/Call Numbers, and additional features.
Login into the system one of two ways. You may click on the "Sign in" link in white letters at the top of the page and then choose "Main Emory Login," or click on "Locate/Request Item," and "Sign in for more options"
A new window will prompt you to login with your NetID and password. This is the same username/password you use for systems like Canvas, OPUS and PeopleSoft.

Click on the "Request Article or Chapter" tab located on the item bar in blue. This will direct you either to the login page for ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan), or to a page where you can select the particular volume you need.
If this button doesn't appear for you, you can still place a scanning request, but you'll need to type or copy/paste all the information manually. To do so, please log on to ILLiad [https://illiad.library.emory.edu/], register if prompted, and then fill out either the "Copy of Article" or "Copy of Book Chapter" form.
If Emory owns more than one copy or volume, you'll be presented with a list. Click on the "Request It" link next to the appropriate volume or copy. This will direct you to the login page for ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan).
Click on the appropriate box for your status (Emory Students, Faculty, and Staff OR ILLiad Proxies).
Review the request form and fill out the appropriate fields for the item you need. Note that the fields with red asterisks* are required in order to submit the request. You'll typically need to add or review information for Year, Volume, Issue/Month, Pages, Article/Chapter Title, and Article/Chapter Author.
When you have completed the form, click "Submit Request" at the bottom of the page.
Monitor your request by logging onto the ILLiad homepage under "In-Process Requests." Contact the ILL office at mainill@emory.edu or 404.727.6874 with any questions or concerns regarding your request.
You will be notified via e-mail when requested articles are available for viewing. To view electronic document(s), logon to ILLiad, click on the Electronic Documents button under View/Edit, and click on the View link for the document you wish to view. Clicking on the Transaction Number link will display details of your request.
Electronic documents will be available via ILLiad for 30 days or until you delete them, whichever is earlier. If you accidentally delete an article that has been posted less than 30 days, contact your library's ILL office immediately to restore access to the article.
