These are the posters that were created as part of the exhibit. The posters were intentionally created to emulate the feel of a zine, with overlapping clippings and an emphasis on feeling rather than a strict chronology. The pink color was chosen as a reference to the US cover of the Sex Pistols' album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols.
The first poster was designed to depict the birth of Punk, the emergence of the Sex Pistols, their show in Atlanta, and global hype about the band. The second poster was designed to depict the aftermath, including backlash against Punk, criticism of other bands, the demise of the Sex Pistols, etc. As an educational object, the intent of the posters was to give viewers a brief sample of mainstream narratives about punk at the time of Ron Sherman's photographs.
