Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Who qualifies as "underrepresented" for the purpose of the ARS Internship program? In the context of these internships, the term encompasses all the historically and currently underrepresented groups/students referenced here, including but not limited to African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanics or Chicanos/Latinos, and Native Americans, as well as other ethnicities, religious groups, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, first-generation students, low-income students, adult learners, and veterans.
  2. I am a recent graduate. Can I still apply for the program?  Yes.  Recent graduates (May 2022-May 2024) and currently enrolled graduate students are welcome to apply to the program.
  3. I live in the Atlanta metro area, do I qualify for the paid Emory housing? Housing support is only available to non-Emory students traveling to Atlanta to participate in the internship program from outside of the Atlanta metro area. 
  4. I am a currently enrolled Emory graduate student, do I qualify for Emory housing? Housing support is only available to non-Emory students traveling to Atlanta to participate in the internship program from outside of the Atlanta metro area. Please contact Emory's Housing Office to explore summer housing options for Emory students.
