Middle Eastern Language Studies Guide

This guide offers resources to students of Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian from Woodruff Library.

Introduction

Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian materials at Woodruff Library support the Emory community’s learning, research, and intellectual interests. The featured publications, movies, and musical compositions open a wide window onto the diversity and creativity of Middle Eastern cultures from ancient times until today. A small selection of these materials was presented at the exhibition From Right to Left:  Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian Study Resources at Woodruff Library on the second (entry) level of Woodruff Library between May and October 2024. This library guide includes a description and pictures of this exhibition and the "scribal instructions" placed in the exhibition's writing corner to help visitors learn how to write in the Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian scripts.

In the stacks, books in Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian are placed on connecting shelves.
