MAXQDA 2020

Welcome

MAXQDA is a software program that allows you to code and analyze your qualitative research. It allows you to code faster and more efficiently.

This Guide will help you:

  • Understand the basics of MAXQDA
  • Import your data
  • Learn how to do basic coding
  • Become competent in running reports on your coded data and exporting these reports

Accessing MAXQDA on Campus

MAXQDA is available at the following locations on campus:

  • Learning Commons at Woodruff Library (MAXQDA is on the nine windows computers on the first floor).
  • Woodruff Health Sciences Library.

Purchasing MAXQDA

MAXQDA Plus for students and Ph.D. candidates:

  • $47 for one semester
  • $95 for 24 months 

If you are an instructor teaching qualitative methods, you can get free course licenses for your students.

*** To purchase, you'll need to have proof of your student status (a student ID is fine).

*** Prices may fluctuate a bit based on the exchange rate.

*** You can try MAXQDA on a free 14-day trial.

Opening up MAXQDA

When you open MAXQDA, this screen will  greet you. You will see your user name and you can open an existing project or start a new one.
