All Emory Law faculty, staff, and students have digital access to the New York Times via Woodruff library's NYTimes Academic Pass program. The program offers individual users digital access to the New York Times from any network or location for a limited period of time. Passes must be renewed annually using Emory credentials.
To Register for Digital and Mobile Access to the New York Times, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Claim your Emory NYTimes Academic Pass at this address: pid.emory.edu/tnf55.
Step 2: Authenticate your Emory affiliation using your Emory NetID/Password.
Step 3: Click Create Account to set up an individual New York Times account (via Emory's NYT Digital Academic Pass program).
Step 4: Log in to your newly created account at this page: pid.emory.edu/tnf55.
Step 5: Start reading the New York Times!
Once claimed, Emory NYTimes Academic Pass users can also log in directly on the nytimes.com website.
NYTimes Academic Passes must be renewed annually. If you are unable to access content you should otherwise have access to, your pass has likely expired. To Renew your Emory NYTimes Academic Pass, follow these steps:
Step 1: From campus, or via Emory's VPN, visit the NYTimes renewal page here: https://www.nytimes.com/grouppass and follow the instructions. Your access will resume uninterrupted for another 52 weeks.
Note: If you receive an "Unauthorized Network Connection" error message, click the grey "Go to NYTImes.com" box. Once redirected, if you are able to access content and/or your account indicates you are a "Digital Subscriber," you have successfully renewed your account.
If you already have a personal account or subscription to the New York Times connected to your @emory.edu email address and would like access to content via Emory's NYTimes Academic Pass, please call NYT Customer Care at 800-591-9233 and ask them to (1) change the email address associated with that account to a non-Emory email address so you can claim your Academic Pass with your @emory.edu email address via the steps outlined above, and (2) cancel your personal account. The New York Times limits subscriptions to one account per individual
