Getting Started

Start with O'Reilly for how-to books, then try one of the leading computer science databases below. For assistance, finding the right search terms, email the Computer science librarian or book an appointment either on Zoom or in one of the campus libraries.

Emory Library Books to Guide You

These are just a sample of books to support you. Search O'Reilly for additional e-books, videos, and audiobooks typing in keywords such as breadboarding, Arduino, wearables, electronics, or physical computing.. To access Emory's paid subscription, click on the link "Institution not listed" then enter your Emory email, when prompted. To learn more about how to share readings with your team, download chapters to read offline, save your notes, and creating a personal account, see E-books at Emory.

Finding Examples in the Literature

In O'reilly, keep it simple. Type in Arduino. In the results filter, you can select your skill level from beginner to advanced. 

Tips to search in ACM or IEEE: use quotations around phrases; break-up different keywords with the boolean operator AND; try authors' keywords

Here's an example of how to brainstorm, learn, and try different synonyms. Sample topic: learning prototyping with Arduino  Keywords to try in ACM or IEEE (copy and paste these successful searches keeping AND in all caps to separate the words) : 1. breadboards AND arduino 2. arduino AND electronics 3. arduino AND prototyping 4. arduino AND prototyping AND toolkits 4. "iterative prototyping" AND breadboards
