Presidential Documents

Presidential Documents include:

  • The Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States contain most of the President's public messages, statements, speeches, and news conference remarks. Proclamations, Executive Orders, and other such documents are included beginning with the administration of Jimmy Carter (1977).
  • Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents began publication in 1965 as a way of providing a broader range of publications on a more timely basis than the Public Papers. This title continued as the Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents.
