Setting Up Storymaps

How to Log In to StoryMaps

Here is how to log into your StoryMaps account:

The first time you log in to Storymaps an account is created for you. 

  1. Go to the StoryMaps site.
  2. Select "sign in" on the page.
  3. On the next page select the option "Your ArcGIS organization's URL"
  4. In the bar revealed enter "Emory" and then select continue
  5. On the next page select Emory University and you should be taken to the Emory login page where you can use your net id and password.

Basics of Using StoryMaps

  • To create a story in StoryMaps, go to the “Create Story” dropdown in the upper righthand corner of the screen. In this drop down you can choose to “start from scratch” or from three templates.  

 

  • In the story builder you can customize the overall design of your story by clicking design in the upper toolbar on your screen. You can also add a cover image or video by clicking on the “add cover image or video” button on the right-hand side of your screen.  

 

 

  • To add content to your story you want to click on the green/teal “+” this will open a menu where you can choose from a variety of content boxes and tools to add to the page.
