Collections Internship

The Robert W. Woodruff Library of Emory University is offering a paid graduate internship in Collections during Summer 2025. During the program, the intern will gain an understanding of current trends, practices, and challenges in contemporary academic library collection management and development. The libraries also will provide additional learning opportunities with related areas of research and collections support (e.g., acquisitions, electronic and continuing resources, and scholarly communication). For 2025, the collections intern will focus on collection assessment and expanding DEI collection initiatives and opportunities within the Woodruff Library.

Under the supervision of experienced Collections staff, the successful candidate may:

  • Assess publisher and supplier diversity in selected areas of the collection and identifying independent booksellers to encourage bibliodiversity.
  • Explore local booksellers for possible partnerships and propose content to purchase from said booksellers.
  • Research and propose a student-led collections diversity pilot
  • Perform benchmarking analysis on small selection of materials to measure collection diversity.
