On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police officers during an arrest. In response, many people throughout the country took to the streets to protest police brutality and white supremacy. Many of these protests have evolved from the Black Lives Matter movement, an activist organization that campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people.
In light of these recent protests, this guide aims to focus on Atlanta-area protests and to provide resources and opportunities to support organizations dedicated to racial justice, bail reform, and equality. In particular, this guide focuses on resources for the Emory Law community, and highlights actions taken by Emory Law students. Resources include ways to support Emory Law students, donation links for Atlanta protesters and bail funds, tips on how to protest safely, and more.
